INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT PLAN
Structural and landscape pests can pose significant problems in schools and facilities. Some pests can trigger asthma; others are vectors of disease. The pesticides used to remediate pests can also pose health risks to people, animals, and the environment. Because the health and safety of the public is our first priority—and a prerequisite to learning—it is the policy of Springfield Public Schools to approach pest management with the least possible risk to students and staff. Senate Bill 637 (incorporated into ORS Chapter 634) requires all school districts to implement integrated pest management in their schools.
Springfield Public Schools has an Integrated Pest Management Plan on file at the Facilities Center and at the Administration Building.
