The Communications Department welcomes interns from a variety of post-secondary programs in our area. Interns have the opportunity to work alongside staff to help develop both internal and external communications plans, assist with the day-to-day running of a dynamic communications program, and enhance their skills through a variety of projects.
Upon successful completion of this unpaid internship, students receive a letter of recommendation and portfolio materials. Past interns have found that spending two terms in Springfield Public Schools allows them to get more involved and help lead larger, long-term projects.

Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Professionalism and the ability to work with confidential information are important skills. Knowledge of the web and experience using Adobe products, especially Photoshop and InDesign, are also welcome in potential interns. Applicants must provide a résumé and work samples.
