Thurston Robotics Teams Advance

Three Thurston robotics teams have advanced to the FIRST Tech Challenge Super-Qualifier event on Feb. 11-12 (specific date and location TBD): Phalanx (Team 3093 - Ben Blatny, Carrie-Anna Estes, Jaden Gathright, Jesse Hewitt, Flynn Huston, Cody Klews, Christian Pettus and Brendon Scott) came in 5th in the qualifying rounds and got to be Alliance Captains for the Elimination Rounds. Player 1 (Team 6476 - Kyle Coleman, Jeremiah Elliot, Spencer Hansen, Ethan Jackson, Hunter Scott, Dalton Wilde, Max Wines and Taran Wood) were selected to be on an Alliance and were finalists in the Elimination Rounds. Toga Party (Team 10428 - Luke Agajanian, Grant Gramespacher, Levi Lehman, Eric Leslie, Augustus Loftin, Emily Russell and Eden Wilde) won the Motivate Award.

The teams have been working since the start of school to build robots that will conquer this year's challenge course. At the competitions, the teams accumulate points based on their an interview, the robot's performance in competition and overall spirit.
